This vase was constructed of 369 separate pieces of wood. It contains eight different species of wood: maple, cherry, paduak, birch, walnut, oak, Purple Heart and blood wood. They are 24 layers, each with 16 pieces. The rows are stacked and glued together. Afterwards, it is turned on the lathe to its final shape.
Three coats of wax are applied after final sanding.
The vase is 11” tall and 8” at the top opening.
