Figured Walnut and epoxy art

I call this piece “Lake in the woods”. It is a highly figured piece of walnut which has maintained all of its original bark. The large piece is mounted on the lathe and then only the center is turned inward to create the “lake” effect. The lake is a beautiful blue with natural hilights. The bark has been coated with epoxy resin to assure it does not fall off or separate. This would make a beautiful center piece to any table with or without objects in the lake. To finish, I used four coats of two different waxes and then buffed to hilight the unusual grain patterns.
