Figured Paduak and Resin Charcuterie/Serving Board

This board is made with a very unusual piece of paduak. Paduak typically has very straight grain and the color is orangish red. The piece has a high content of sapwood which shows as the yellowish stripes. In addition, the grain is very wavy. This piece was not desirable for furniture making and was headed to the burn pile. Paduak is imported from Africa and is strong and stable.

The pigment used in the epoxy resin is iridescent and has several prominent colors depending in the light and angle.

The board has brushed nickel handles and feet for stability and grip.
